
Dick Spring, Chairman, former Deputy Prime Minister & Government Minister of Ireland
Dick Spring was a member of Dáil Éireann (Irish Parliament) from 1981 -2002. From 1982 to 1997 he was Leader of the Irish Labour Party and served as Tánaiste (Deputy Prime Minister) in three Governments - 1982-87, 1993-94, and 1994-97. He also held several ministerial offices: Foreign Affairs, Justice, Energy and Environment. Dick Spring led the Irish delegation to the All-Party Talks which culminated in the Good Friday Agreement. As Foreign Minister, he represented Ireland at the General Council of the EU, a body he chaired during Ireland’s Presidency in 1996. He also chaired the European Council of Energy Ministers in 1984. As well as addressing the General Assembly of the UN on a number of occasions, Dick Spring led EU Troikas to the former Yugoslavia, Russian Federation, ASEAN Regional Forum, EU-SADAC, the Middle East, and the EU Gulf Co-operation Council. Dick Spring was educated at Trinity College Dublin and King’s Inns, Dublin, and is a Barrister. He holds the positions of chairman, deputy chairman and non-executive director of a number of companies and is International Counsel to the Washington/Boston law firm, Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris Glovsky and Popeo. He is a Fellow of the Salzburg Seminar, an Associate Fellow of the Kennedy School of Government and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations Taskforce on Palestine.
Mike Fitzgerald, Chief Executive Officer, Altobridge
Mike Fitzgerald has 19 years experience in the Telecommunications industry, primarily focused on Wireless Systems and new innovative applications within this market segment. He has held the position of Vice President of two NASDAQ quoted companies, ADC Telecommunications (ADCT) and interWAVE Communications (IWAV). He led an MBO of a division of a US company in 1999, brought it to profitability in 9 months and completed a successful Trade Sale of that company for 20 MUSD in 2000.
Prior to this he was a member of the senior management team running Ericsson's wireless business for China & Hong Kong and in his final position with Ericsson he was director of a 300 MUSD Business Unit in California, primarily focused on Pacific Bell Wireless Services. Mike is a founder and CEO of Altobridge Ltd. and is a board member of several Technology and Investment Companies including Mianach Venture Capital and Blue Ocean Wireless Ltd. (maritime communications solutions).
Martin J. Bollinger, Senior Vice President, Booz Allen Hamilton
Martin is a Senior Vice President with Booz Allen Hamilton and leader of the firm’s Aerospace and Defence Team. He has 19 years experience with Booz Allen Hamilton and has worked in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia. He is now based in McLean, Virginia. He specializes in business strategy and organizational effectiveness for corporate clients. His corporate clients have included most of the major aerospace and defense companies in the U.S., Asia/Pacific and Europe, and a wide range of industrial, communications and service companies including airlines and cruise ship companies. His government clients have included the U.S. Department of the Navy, U.S. Defense Science Board and U.S. Federal Aviation Administration. Martin has served on the Booz Allen Hamilton’s global Board of Directors and served as Chairman of its Audit Committee. In the past he has also served as Managing Director for the Firm’s business in the Asia/Pacific region and has been a member of the Firm’s global leadership team. At the request of the FAA Administrator, he has testified before Congress on issues of aviation safety. Prior to joining Booz Allen Hamilton, Martin managed aerospace consulting operations for DRI/McGraw-Hill and was a Research Fellow at the Wharton Analysis Center, directing studies on energy and related national-security issues. Martin has an M.B.A. in Finance (with distinction) from Wharton and a B.S.F.S. in International Economics (cum laude) from Georgetown University. He serves on the Board of Directors of USO of Metropolitan Washington and has previously served on the Board of the Council for Economic Development of Australia. He is also a published author on Russian maritime history and an instrument-rated commercial pilot, certificated in both the U.S. and Australia.
Dómhnal Slattery, Chairman Claret Capital
Dómhnal is the Chairman and Managing Partner of Claret Capital, a private equity fund based in Dublin. Prior to that he was the Managing Director of Structured Asset Finance for the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), the world’s fifth largest bank. Based in Dublin and London he had direct responsibility for a number of global business lines with a combined balance sheet in excess of £25 billion. Dómhnal began his career at GPA in 1989 and established his own aircraft financing advisory firm, IAMG in 1994. This business was subsequently acquired by Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) in 2001 and he then established RBS Aviation Capital. Today this business is the third largest commercial aircraft lessor in the world, with a committed fleet of 230 aircraft. In 2005 Dómhnal co-founded the Clare People, Ireland’s fastest growing regional newspaper. His other media investments include Channel 6 and Newgrange Pictures. In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Dómhnal is a Board member of the University College Galway Foundation and an International Ambassador for the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital charity.
Declan Hogan, Hogan & Associates
Declan is principal in the firm of Hogan & Associates, Chartered Accountants. He was a member of the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland from 1992 until 1996. Declan qualified as a chartered accountant, achieving first place in Ireland, with Arthur Andersen in 1976. Declan was co-author of The Combined Companies Acts 1963-2001 (Gill & MacMillan, 2002). He is currently director/chairman of a number of telecommunications and software sector companies in Ireland and the UK. He is an adviser and consultant in fundraising ventures, mergers, and acquisitions.
Gerry Power, Managing Director Power Aircraft Services Ltd
Gerry is the founder and principal of Power Aircraft Services Limited, a company that offers specialised aircraft trading and consulting services to airlines and financial institutions. Gerry previously worked with GPA Group plc., then the world’s largest aircraft lessor and financier, from 1985 to 1993 (in the USA, Belgium & Ireland) where he held senior management positions including Vice President Aircraft Acquisitions, Vice President Marketing, and Personal Assistant to Dr. T. A. Ryan, GPA’s Chairman & CEO. He is currently Chairman of Starair Limited (a private charter airline) and holds a number of directorships with aviation companies in Ireland. Gerry is a graduate of Pace University in New York where he obtained an MBA (with distinction) in 1985. He also has a BBA from Pace University and an NDBS from the University of Limerick.
Noel Kelly
Noel is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ireland. He was partner in Accountants Kelly Cregan & Co up to 1987 and then went on to become finance director/shareholder of a group of UK based development companies from 1987 - 1993. Since then Noel has become involved in setting up and developing a small group of UK based nursing homes. He was also director/shareholder of Ireland's leading Office Products supplier Corporate Express Ltd from 1992 to 2003 (sale exit). Noel holds various investments in technology based companies in Ireland and UK.
Guy Waugh, Chief Operations Officer, Altobridge
Guy Waugh set up Land Sea Air Communications Limited (LSA) in 2001 to address the growing wireless communications demands of the aeronautical and maritime industry. It was from this research and analysis, coupled with further international analysis, that he and Mike Fitzgerald founded Altobridge in 2002. Guy graduated in Microelectronics and Information Processing after which he joined GEC Avionics. He joined Ericsson in 1990 where he worked in billing, intelligent networks, system characteristics and delivered multi-million pound software and hardware projects including heading up the successful Y2K compliance programme for Vodafone. Guy joined ADC Telecommunications in 1998 as Head of Project Management (EMEA) and was subsequently involved in the management buy out in 1999 that formed Microcellular Systems where he was a director and board member.
Bart Kane, Chief Financial Officer, Altobridge
Bart Kane is a member of the institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. He worked with Horwath Bastow Charleton between 1989 and 1997 and was audit senior for a number of both private and publicly quoted companies operating across a range of industries. On leaving public practice he worked as Financial Controller within the hospitality industry prior to becoming Group Finance Director for Microcellular Systems Ltd (an Irish technology company with operations in San Diego, London and Beijing). Bart led the successful trade sale of that company to interWAVE Communications (NASDAQ:IWAV) in 2000. Following closure of this transaction Bart went on to take the position of Finance Director for interWAVE’s largest business unit, EMEA, between 2000 and 2004.

Declan Murphy, Founder and Chairman, Impresarios Ltd.
Declan is founder of Impresarios, a company that incubates and finances innovations and assists them through implementation. He was previously a Director at DMR, a leading Canadian IT consulting firm. He has also served as Executive Assistant to the Librarian of Congress and was a faculty member in the Management Department of The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Declan holds an M.B.A. degree from The Wharton School and a Ph.D. from Princeton University. He is currently assisting the Federal Aviation Administration with the formulation of its first agency-wide information technology strategy.
M. Edward Gilbert, President, Gilbert & Associates Retired
Rear Admiral and President of Gilbert & Associates, Ed Gilbert, has a distinguished and highly respected career in the US Coast Guard. He was Chief, Telecommunications and Deputy Chief, Command, Control and Communications at Coast Guard Headquarters from 1981 to 1986. He was also Commander, Eleventh Coast Guard District from 1990 to 1993. He completed his career as Rear Admiral in charge of all Coast Guard operations for the South-western United States and the adjacent four million square miles of ocean. He is an advisor to Altobridge since 2005 and is a Board member of; Radio Technical Commission for Maritime Services and the U. S. Coast Guard Foundation.
Richard Lord, Chief Technical Officer, Altobridge
Richard has spent over 25 years in the telecommunications industry. He started his career with Alcatel in Paris working on the development of digital land-line switches through analog mobile systems and finally on to Alcatel’s GSM project. He went on to hold senior technical and product management positions with Motorola’s cellular infrastructure division and represented Motorola in several ETSI standards groups. Before joining Altobridge he worked as product manager and systems architect in LogicaCMG’s wireless products division.
Ian Walter, Chief Technical Officer, Blue Ocean Wireless
Ian brings to Altobridge a wealth of Aeronautical and Mobile Telecommunications experience. He started his career, with British Airways were he worked for 8 years as an Avionics engineer in the Helicopter division. He then joined Motorola in 1988 were he initially worked on the roll out of the Cellnet analogue network followed by overseas posting to North and South America. He was involved in the roll out of some of the first GSM networks in Europe. In 1996 Ian left Motorola to join Silicon Valley startup InterWAVE Communication Inc., where he was involved in the development of a new generation of GSM products, for Corporate and Emerging markets. In 1997 in agreement with interWAVE Ian transferred to ADC Microcellular Systems as Head of Product management and played a key roll driving the in-building corporate solution with key customers such as BTCellnet and Tmobile. Ian was part of the management team that worked on the MBO of the Microcellular business unit from ADC and went on to be a board member and CTO of the new company. After the trade sale of the company to InterWAVE communications in 2000 Ian relocated to California where he headed up InterWAVE’s Product Management group with responsibility for both the GSM and CDMA product lines. Ian holds and HND in Aeronautical Engineering (Avionics) and has attended engineering and management training with Motorola and British Airways.
Mike Godley, Vice President, Research & Development, Altobridge
Mike has a long history of senior level R&D including key positions with Motorola, Euristix (Fore/Marconi) and Microcellular Systems. He has particular experience essential for the Altobridge platform. With Motorola he was a member of the software architecture team and manager for their 3G solution working on the core network elements of 3G (SGSN/GGSN). With Euristix (Fore/Marconi) he was a product architect for the company’s element management platform, responsible for specification/design/implementation and for evolving the future direction. Mike graduated with a BSc (Eng) in Electrical / Electronic Engineering from Trinity College Dublin.

Janne Hazell, General Manager, Remote Community Communications
Janne Hazell joined Altobridge in 2006, bringing with him over 17 years of experience from the telecommunications industry. Most recently, Janne was the CTO of Ericsson IPX AB, with responsibility for Operations, Product Management, SI and R&D. During his time with Ericsson, Janne held several senior positions in Asia, Europe and USA, including Director of Marketing and Sales, Southern China, where he was responsible for securing cellular contracts worth over 300mUS$. As manager and later colleague to Mike Fitzgerald, he was instrumental in securing Ericsson’s position as no 1 digital cellular infrastructure provider in China in the mid ‘90th. Janne graduated from Linkoping Institute of Technology in 1988 with a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management.
Monte Egeland, Vice President Altobridge Inc. (Emergency First Response)
With over twenty years experience in industry, Monte has combined technical (electrical engineering/mathematics) and business (MBA Santa Clara University) expertise with a leading US Service Provider and leading industry suppliers. Past responsibilities have included managing multi-discipline and multi-company teams (100+ individuals) in various engineering and operations related projects. At Pacific Bell Mobile Services Monte was responsible for the roll out of a Billion USD GSM Network. Monte brings a wealth of strong leadership skills, along with a high degree of sales, technical and operational expertise in various telecommunications technologies internationally. He has significant development country network roll-out expertise across Africa, the Middle East and Asia and was a co-lead in the management buyout from ADC Telecommunications, Wireless Systems Division in 1999, where he was subsequently COO and board member.

Norman Hubbs, Director, Government Solutions
Norman joined Altobridge bringing more than 30 years of management and information technology experience with the last 20 years focused primarily on the US Federal Government. He began his career with EDS in the Systems Engineering Development Program and rapidly rose through a number of technical and leadership positions, becoming Regional Manger for all U.S. Navy business in 1991. In this capacity, Norman directed the systems integration and modernization programs for U.S. Naval Supply Systems Command’s logistics systems that supported the Navy’s air and fleet components worldwide. In 1994, he established EDS’ first electronic commerce business unit that defined and developed offerings for targeted industries using EDS’ global networks. He also provided strategic planning and consulting for the federal government’s electronic commerce initiative and advised the Administrator of the Office of Federal Procurement Policy within OMB. In 1997, Norman joined Integic Corporation, a Northrop Grumman company, as Director of Operations for the Federal Government Practice Area. Subsequently, he served as Senior Vice President for the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community Sector responsible for strategy, business development, operations, partnerships, and government relations. Most recently, he served as Vice President, Aerospace, Defense and the Public Sector for IHS, a global provider of critical data and information. Norman holds a BA in History from Mount Saint Mary’s University.
