Remote Communities have unique requirements and failure to adhere to each of them results in a common denominator, cost. These communities need communications to emerge, to bridge the digital divide, cost only prohibits this. As the Service Provider bares this cost, ultimately fewer communities get connected.
Any transmission overhead is a cost and Altobridge has spent 5 years of intensive R&D designing technology agnostic solutions to remove this. Today our core platform has made unparalleled advances in the Aeronautical & Maritime communications markets and the very same core principle and patents have shifted seamlessly onto addressing the requirements of remote community communications. While one would have argued in the past, that terrestrial backhaul costs are significantly less than the aeronautical and maritime world's, we recognise that this is far from the case and these subscribers are ultra cost sensitive, it's really a case of dollars and cents.
Altobridge has brought down the operational overhead barriers and now our immediate R&D objective is to transport these same basic principles to 4th Generation technologies so that these communities will benefit in parallel to their urban citizens, rather than the traditional network roll out model i.e. cities first, then towns, then highways and then, well maybe, if there's a business case, those still unconnected. This is why we have chosen to start at the end and work our way back.
Altobridge does not intend to do this alone; our door is always open to partnerships.
